Stefano Bassetti is a specialist in general internal medicine and infectious diseases. He is the head of the Division of Internal Medicine at the University Hospital Basel and Professor of Medicine at the University Basel in Basel, Switzerland. He is active at the national level i.e. as member of the committee on postgraduate education of the Swiss Society of General Internal Medicine and as member of the board of the Swiss Institute of Medical Education. His clinical and research interests focus on management of patients with infectious diseases, polymorbidity, “clinical reasoning” and medical education.
