Dr. Meltem Koca is a specialist in geriatric medicine and currently working at Turkish Ministry of Health Etlik City Hospital, Ankara, Türkiye. In 2018, after she completed her specialization in internal medicine, she started her research and clinical fellowship in Division of Geriatrics at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. She completed her geriatric medicine residency in 2022.
She is a member of European Geriatric Medicine Society (EuGMS) and actively participating in Vlogs Working Group as a member as well as co-chairing in Mapping Working Group and Rotations Working Group of the EuGMS-Early Career Geriatricians Initiative (ECGI).
Meltem Koca is also participating in the COST Action CA21122- PROmoting GeRiAtric Medicine IN countries where it is still eMerGing (PROGRAMMING) as Grant Awarding Coordinator and one of the two Management Committee members from Türkiye.
Her research areas mainly include frailty, malnutrition, and functionality of older adults as well as quality of health care for geriatric medicine. She is also interested in agism and its effects on general health and care of older patients.
