Christiane E. Angermann studied medicine, music and philosophy in Cologne and Munich, Germany, and Oxford, UK. She trained in Medicine and Cardiology at Munich University. In 2001, she became Professor of Medicine/Clinical Research in Cardiology at Würzburg University, and directed the Division of Cardiology at Department of Medicine II. She is one of the 5 founding leaders of the Comprehensive Heart Failure Center at the University/ University Hospital Würzburg (CHFC), where she became CHFC Director of Clinical Research in 2010, and currently serves as a Senior Professor of Clinical Research in Cardiology. Her main research interests are pathophysiology, prevention and treatment of acute and chronic heart failure, healthcare research, eHealth and telemedicine, multimorbidity, and heart-mind-body interactions. She served as an EC or SC member and/or National Leader of multiple prospective clinical trials, is acting as a reviewer, Editorial Board member or Editor-in-Chief (Current Heart Failure Reports) for various journals, and has published more than 250 original articles or reviews in peer-reviewed journals.
