Anna Messmer

After studying medicine at the University of Basel, Switzerland, I qualified as a specialist in general internal medicine in 2011. Thereafter, I specialised in emergency medicine in Switzerland and the UK and became European Board Certified in Emergency Medicine in 2016. In the following years, I also qualified as a specialist in intensive care medicine and have since worked at Bern University Hospital, Inselspital as a senior consultant in intensive care medicine. My research focuses on fluid management in critically ill patients with a special interest in patients with septic shock.
